Helsinki Synth City is honoring the Parisian godfather of synthwave, Vincent Belorgeym better known as Kavinsky, who passed away in July, with a tribute party at Kuudes Linja on October 23rd.
The program naturally features plenty of Kavinsky’s music alongside other synthwave treats spun by Helsinki Synth City resident DJ Benjamin Risto Uuno (aka DJ BRU for the synthwave friends).
Live music will be provided by one of Finland’s most legendary synthwave artists, Ace Buchannon.

A Monumental Night for Helsinki’s Synth Culture
Few artists shaped the retro-futuristic soundscape quite like Vincent Belorgey. When Nightcall echoed across cinema screens worldwide in 2011, it ignited an international movement—catapulting French house, analog synthesizer nostalgia, and midnight driving aesthetics into the global spotlight. From the iconic red varsity jacket to the mythos of the 1986 Ferrari Testarossa, Kavinsky gave synthwave its unmistakable soul.
On Friday, October 23rd, Helsinki Synth City invites our community, producers, and fans to gather under the neon lights of Kuudes Linja for a celebration of his enduring musical legacy.

- ACE BUCHANNON (LIVE) — As one of Finland’s most celebrated synthwave pioneers, Ace Buchannon will deliver an electrifying live performance, blending soaring synth leads, nostalgic basslines, and heavy atmospheric energy.
- DJ BENJAMIN RISTO UUNO (DJ BRU) — Helsinki Synth City’s resident selector on the decks all evening, spinning an expansive selection of Kavinsky masterpieces—from Teddy Boy and 1986 to OutRun and Reborn—alongside peak-time synthwave and outrun bangers.
